Cuisine Soleil Organic Flax Flour| 400 Gram

Beige to light green, with a slight taste of hazelnut, our hemp flour is stone ground from hemp press-cake. Less fat than other hemp flours made from the seed itself, it is a mineral concentrate! What is flax? Flax (Linum usitatissimum) also known as common flax or linseed, is a member of the genus Linum in the family Linaceae. It is widely cultivated throughout the world since the dawn of time for the qualities of its fiber used in the production of textiles and its oleaginous seeds. Nutrition and health Made from press-cake, our flax flour is low in fat, while keeping an excellent Omega-3 and Omega-6 content. Rich in dietary fiber and protein, it is an exceptional source of minerals. It also contains the eight amino acids essential to human life. Origin The oldest textile fibers ever discovered were twisted wild flax fibers. They were discovered in the Dzudzuana cave, in Georgia. Their making was dated from 36.000 years ago, long before the start of agriculture. Flax was then domesticated in the Near-East where it was also used for its oleaginous seeds. Our organic flax is proudly grown in Québec!
